Thanks all, I double checked the battery output and made sure I had solid lead contact when I tested it this time. It was putting out about 8.3 to 8.4.

So it's not the charger or the battery, it's definitely the head. It blinks on so I'm thinking there must be some sort of bad limiter circuit somewhere.

Geoman contacted me last night (wow!) and they're sending a replacement head today.
