Can't comment on MTB tubeless, but my road tubeless can be mounted and inflated with just a floor pump. With road tubeless, the important thing is to make sure the bead is seated properly where the valve assembly is. As long as that is seated, it takes air easily. Don't know how this will differ from MTB tire.
