Judging from the replies, no one here has ridden carbon v alum. Carbon seatposts are bliss comfort wise particularly compared to alum. They have so much flex. I have to admit that my 27.2 post is nicer than my 32.6 because the smaller diameter makes it more flexible. If you're interested in comfort, do yourself a favour and get carbon.
