You are obviously not an Obsessive Compulsive Poseur.
Notonly are carbon seatposts the proper way to pose, but I can honestly say, I have both, and my USE Alien seatpost provides better dampening of vibration, compared to the alloy post on my old bike. The better ones are also much lighter than alloy, so weight weenies are happier.
