I'm guilty of this as well and try to just laugh things off or remember that I'm still upright and need to worry about who else is lurking behind me and not being patient or paying attention.
Yesterday on the ride home someone in a large SUV blew their horn as they passed close and slid in front of me in the right hand (of three empty) lanes. 50 feet later they cruised past a "Bike Route" sign. I had to laugh but I doubt the driver saw the sign. Stay safe out there.
