Way to go on that Milano!!!
Must say something about IP vs. OOP.
We are advocates for OOP (out of phase pedals, 90 degrees).
Been doing it that way for well over 3 decades and 30,000 (s)miles!
Advantages: easier starts, always a pedal stroke going 'over the top', less wear on drivetrain, easier climbing.
Disadvantages: more diifficult for both riders to stand and it doesn't look 'cool.'
No, you will not hit a pedal going around a corner as pilot keeps the cornering foot up and stoker's pedals are then level.
