I think it looks silly. You don't need to wrap the K-wings that far.
I've had wrapped like that before. Up until one hot day and one step hill when my left hand slept off the handlebar. Actually, that was the point of using clear tape - you can wrap is all the way and keep nice look and have a decent grip while riding on the tops.
