You don't need to stay looking at the map.
You can pre-load the route and it will alert you (with a beep) when you need to turn.
You can also enter your destination, and it would find the best route to get there and alert you when to turn.

Last year, riding in unfamiliar territory, I was dropped twice during group rides. It was a life saver.
