I think you all are over reacting. What would you do if you had a spare frame and 170mm crank?
I didn't strip my only road bike to go SS, I have been upgraded to the SLX01 and have no immediate budget for another gruppo.
There are plenty of ride opportunity's that I had been passing on because the pace is not fast enough and they don't go any significant distance.
When I show up on the geared bike I get attitude from other folks like I'm a snob or stuck up. I'm not. With the SS they think I'll be the one struggling to keep up, and I don't have to deal with the insecurity. So I get more miles and a nobody has to worry about their pride - except me, and I could care less - I just want to ride
