The fact of the road closures being part of ACA routes is a very small part of this fiasco. We are allowing for the damage of decent roads by overweight/oversize trucks for the purpose of providing some of the dirtiest oil on the planet. Will Americans ever wake up and give up their addiction to driving and environmental devastation? Considering the sorry state of our schools, I rather doubt it. If Shifty thinks the sky is not falling due to fossil-fuel induced climate change then he must live with either a very short-sighted view of the future or a remarkable ability to tune out facts and rational models.
