El Pais (spanish)
Basically if the German media hadn't leaked the positive test, the UCI would have completely sweeped the whole affair under the rug.
[just like Landis accused them of having done with Armstrong's positive...]
EL pais states that mcquaid said " Wont be Contador case" said: "in a few days we will give a close to this file forever", so it means that no matter what the result the UCI (at least the president) is willing to let this go, the problem is what the Spanish federation will do, the samething? The article mentions that at most AC will get a 3 months suspension that finish at the end of the year, by November. The other interesting matter the article touch is that all of these was well known for at least a month and a half so all the parts could get well prepared for the case, so AC accepted a provisional suspension that started august 24th just after a phone call from the labs to let the spaniards know, since the idea was to find a "low profile" solution the issue the German Press put everything in risk with its comments and bringing all to plain daylight.
The big issue is if the AMA will allow the case to stop here or it will be prosecuted until the end, and that could mean a few years suspension plus maybe having AS to get the yellow jersey by mail in a near future.
Lets see what happens anyways
