Thanks, I read the thread. My only observation is that if I quit every organization where I disagree with some of their stands I wouldn't belong to any. My local AARP has been very good about advocating for pedestrian issues and this very often helps cyclists as well. They were right on top of it when I asked for their support when a bill allowing bicycles with electric motors to be classed as bicycles was amended to remove three wheeled bicycles from the bill. They understood right away that this would have a negative effect on seniors and got it fixed, so I'm not about to turn in my card anytime soon, even if I don't always agree with them on some of the national issues.
