Cyclist hit and seriously injured -- by a kangaroo.

Only in Australia I guess --

A woman is in a critical condition after she was hit by a wallaby while cycling in central Queensland.

The 55-year-old woman was riding with two other cyclists along Farnborough Road, Farnborough, when the wallaby struck her, causing her to fall onto the road about 5.20am (AEST) yesterday.

Although she was wearing a helmet, she suffered a serious head injury, police said in a statement.

She was taken to Yeppoon Hospital, but was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition just before 5pm.
The Australian

A wallaby is smaller than a kangaroo but could be 2 meters at full stretch; weight, I'm guessing, up to 50kg. That's a nasty whack if it's going at 10-15kmh and gets you from the side.
