Unless your Raleigh is badly damaged or needs lots of major parts, it is well worth repairing. Do you have any friends or family who are handy with bikes? If so, this would be the best way to go. It will cost less and you can learn about servicing your bike by working with them. Next best would be taking it to a shop for repair, which will get you up and running properly but cost a little more. Again, unless badly damaged even this is still cheaper than a new bike, or a used one that may also need repair.
