I miss Vancouver. I didn't own or ride a bike during my entire 6 years living there, and I wish I had. Sadly, I doubt I'll be lucky enough to live there again; though, I will likely have the opportunity to live in many other interesting places.
I kept going north along Cambie. Well at King Ed. another cyclist pulls to the front and proceeds to run red lights as we ride on the busy part of Cambie between King Ed. and Broadway. I caught up with him on the downhill and blew past him. Cyclists who run red lights in busy traffic areas bother me... :-(
I would say it seems borderline suicidal to try running red lights on a bike along that section of Cambie in Vancouer, but that would be understating it. The roads in Vancouver are already extremely narrow (compared to what I grew up with in Toronto, and am currently using in the Twin Cities)- there just isn't a lot of room for error under the best of conditions. Plus, it's riders like that who give all cyclists bad names. Why is it that drivers seem to have a better memory for bad cyclists than they do for bad drivers?
