I'm younger than you, but I wouldn't give a damn if you had a tattoo. If you were my friend and thinking about getting one I would probably ask you if you've thought it through and made sure you know of any consequences, but it's your damn arm/body part. Personally I wouldn't get a tattoo anywhere other than the hip, in a traditional swimmer location:

and that only if I had done something that I was extraordinarily proud of and is frequently commemorated that way, like got to NCAA champs or the olympics. Since none of those things are ever happening, I don't forsee myself getting a tat, but I'm not opposed to them.
