I'd suggest you first figure out what size you want. It's probably going to be a bigger size than the guys at the local bike shop would put you on. Then look at everything and anything in that size, assuming it's made of good steel tubing (Reynolds 531 or equivalent).
Older bikes were often geared higher than modern ones, so if you do get a nice vintage bike with the frame characteristics you want, it may not be geared for climbing Lookout Mountain. Don't worry about that; lowering the gearing is a separate thread.
