Just wanted to vent/*****/complain about myself

Last winter I topped 220. That sucked. I got on the bike and started riding. I got to about 210, got pneumonia and stopped riding. I did not keep to my strict(ish) diet but tried to live with the "take home" messages of smaller portions and more whole foods. I noticed thought, that by late spring I was 230. Summer came and I became more active in general. Specifically, I started getting out hiking/geocaching. I found that to be great exercise and I am DEFINATELY stronger than I was before BUT, even though I was burning 1600 calories in a single outing, I stayed at 230. Crap. Really. So, a few weeks ago I started to ramp up my cycling again. I am not at the "place" where I was right before I was sick but you would think that between hiking 10-20 miles a week AND biking 20-30 miles a week I wouldn't STILL be 230 pounds! What's going to happen when I get snowed in this year? Am I just going to explode?
