No, it's valid logic. If you make a motorist angry when they see you run a stop sign, they may not give me the courtesy that I need to stay safe when they pass me. If we cyclists as a whole can think in those terms, we will ALL be safer.
this is not actually valid logically. if you make a particular individual motorist angry then that one motorist may not give courtesy next time. however it does not influnce mototrists in general. and if you are worried about the one mototist that would actually take revenge out on a biker for running a stop sign or whatever, then you are worrying about someone that in has a screw loose anyways.
