Put a freezer gel pack in the refrigerator (or freezer, depending on how long you're out for), wrap your insulin bottle and the freezer pack in a washcloth, and wrap them together in a section of space-blanket. Then put them in your handlebar bag (or wherever you keep them.) On tour, ice in a sandwich bag will work in place of a freezer pack.
My ex is T1, and we figured out all sorts of ways to keep her stuff cool when out hiking in the SW Ohio heat.
