I just put a new chain and freewheel on my Trek 330.Determined to be independent of the LBS mechanics I bought the proper tools and the bike rides well.I just saw a thread where someone says new chains come with their own lube and it's good for 1000 miles and somewhere else I read to take the original chain lube off!!What's the consensus.I put a drop of oil on each link anyway figuring it couldn't hurt.
