I had a new pair of croc's saved for this ride. I use a walmart brand peddle with the 1/2 to 9/16 thread adapter that makes the platform wide enough for my feet.

The weight of the crock's and the peddle keeps me from moving more mass than needed.

I went out a few days ago and tried to hammer out a 15 mph average over several miles and it did not work with the croc's. So at some point i will need to retool for higher average speeds. For now, until i loose another 60 lbs i will stick with this set up. With this set up i can keep my heart rate in check also.
