Some of the guys in the local cycling club had been harassed by a driver repeatedly on fitness rides. After a few weeks of comparing notes via email, one of them was able to get the license number and filed a police report. the police reported back that they visited the driver at her office, explained the law to her and the need to "share the road", and that she was "receptive". I can't help but smile when I think about the police showing up at this woman's workplace to discuss her behavior.
