misaligned brake bosses on older frames...

Hello everyone,

Just wondering if any of you have found a solution for misaligned brake bosses/studs on older road and mountain frames. I have encountered this about 3 times in the last 2 years-- the most common is having the brake bosses mounted too high. The best mark for this being an issue with a frame has been when there are small cantilevers mounted-- ones with very little up and down adjustment. The solution that I came up with recently was rummaging around for a set of v brakes that had a low enough adjustment to just barely trike the rim below the tire. This is basically a call for sympathy and any of your thoughts on the subject. Much love, FTU
