It is more a matter of how much, rather than what. Although I must admit that there have been times with the "what" was a factor as well. I am currently 273 lbs (6' tall), down from 325. I was down to 249 but when I ripped my achilles in half, 3 months in a cast and the funk that came from not being able to exercise cost me dearly (But such is life). I have been hitting the bike paths regularly this year and I am feeling quite good, unfortunately it pushed my knee over the edge hence the complete replacement in 3 weeks.

I am prepared this time, and my choice is to come out of the down time weighing less that I went into it, and once my PT is done and the ice has melted, I am getting a new bike and will hit it hard the coming year.
