Seat post height
I went on a 42 mile ride this past weekend with a friend. At the top of the hill, I commented that it felt like the seat post was too low- this, despite the fact I've been riding it this way for about 6 weeks when I got my bike back from a tune up. Long story short, he helped me adjust the height of the seat post, and we raised it about 3 mm. It felt better, and we kept riding. When I got home from work tonight though, it seat post still felt a little bit low- so I tried raising it some more on my own. I raised it up- little by little, until it was about 2.5" up from where it has been for the last month and a half. Woah- did that make a huge difference. I'd almost guess that a big chunk of the difference in performance I had been experiencing riding lighter carbon bikes might've just been that the seat posts were high enough on them versus my current ride. Anyway, I'm really stoked to go back out tomorrow on it and see how much of a difference it'll make. In the few minutes I rode it after the last adjustments it felt like spinning was much easier than it had been. Spinning was feeling rather clunky and jarring, but it felt smooth and easy now that the seat post has been raised.
Awesome!
