About 1.5 miles into backtracking, I stop at a red light, sit up and find my wallet, tangled in between my shirt and undershirt. Good times, but now I had to keep riding the other mile home, get my car, and drive to work otherwise I would have been late (I am a teacher and late is very frowned upon) . All in all it wasnt bad, I didnt lose anything, hit anything, get hit, break down, or be late, just put me in a bad mood.

I had the same thing happen to me this past spring. Although, the wallet did pop out on to the road. Fortunately, I had only gone 50 ft or so before I realized it was gone. I got off my bike and walked in the dark against traffic, and found it in the gutter.
Good ride in today, and I dressed for chilly, beacause it was at 40 F ( 4 C), but it was humid and rain is coming, so it was a warm ride. Yep, I can't give up my shorts either, at least until my knees start complaining, then I will listen.
