Contrary, but not impossible --

Raising the bars might not help at all.

You could be slouching without realizing it -- keeping your arms stiff and letting your torso hang from your shoulders can stress the muscles around your neck.

Relax your arms, put a slight bend in your elbows, and roll your shoulders back and down, encouraging your core to do more of the work to hold you up.

I'm saying this because you said "hunched over". Most people "hunch over" by tucking their head down, raising their shoulders, and dropping their neck. I'm sitting here trying to do it, and I can feel the strain on my neck.
