I've never used the Jandd rack, but I worked at a shop that sold them and the appear to be very sturdy and well designed. I've liked every Jandd product I've owned. That rack is one of my primary choices for the trek 620 I'm building up. If budget allows, I would like a set of the Surly nice racks, although they are way too expensive. I have mounted quite a few Jandd rear racks and noticed they are very versitile in their mounting options. I'd find a shop that carries them, bring the bike in, and take a look.
