A good technique to get around turns quickly that I've been using lately is to hit the front brake hard out of the saddle, and then lock your legs up a fraction of a second after you hit the brake.
The rear wheel will skid really easily, and in a turn, it creates an instant fishtail/powerslide skid dealie. Mucho fun, too!
If you do this right into the turn, and let the rear wheel skid for like a foot or two, you can end up pointed perfecrtly out of the turn with minimal effort.

FRONT BRAKE!!!??? You might as well be coasting!
