I did the opposite on our honeymoon. We were in San Fran and pretty much broke. I calculated the tip based on the meal and not the 378% of fees tacked on. I then added the tip to the meal instead of to the total. I realized it while walking out but it was too late. I think it ended up being a 3% tip.
