I did stupid stuff... things that often resulted in my own injury. But my parents gave me at least a basic sense of right from wrong. Grabbing a bb gun and shooting at random people is beyond stupid. I would say it is a prelude to more serious acts. Sort of like the serial killer type who got a kick out of mutilating the family cat as a child. Something went wrong in the parenting.
