Those are great citys.
Austin seems to get overhyped and lumped in with places like NYC and SF rather often. Austin is a great town and I enjoyed my time there...I'd love to head back for some Trudy's, Salt Lick, and a night on 6th street. But it is simply not in the leauge of SF or NYC. It is only about the size of Indianapolis.
Austin is a really cool and progressive mid-sized city in the middle of a red state. It isn't a dynamic, diverse coastal metropolis like NYC or SF.
