All my bikes, even my weekend bikes, make the commute from time to time. But, only one bike--the Portland--is equipped for four-seasons, all-conditions commuting.

Part of the attraction when I changed branches earlier this year was that I get a locker and I have a huge choice of alternate routes. I only really have to take a commuter on Monday and Thursday, when I haul in the week's supplies and haul home the laundry. Tuesday and Wednesday I can ride anything I want, weather permitting.

This time of year, lights factor in to the choice. Although today I ordered a MagicShine for the the backup and the weekend bikes, so they can get back in rotation, at least until the snow flies.
