My heart hurts reading this book. I can't stomach more than a few pages at a time, but I really want to finish reading it. It's as interesting a commentary on rwanda as farmer's works are on haiti. What a freaking stomach churning book.
I don't think anyone can come out of an experience like that and stay sane..
Read it when it first came out. If you want a good genocide we're your species.
Boyer and Ritchey spend a lot of time there helping with Team Rwanda. In Boyer's case there's an element of rehab in many ways.
