I know about the Atalas, I own one and have owned two others. Aside from that I used to have a 1984 Aquila that also had an "A" on the crown, albeit a more stylized font (see picture below). In any case a collector friend of mine has an almost identical Argos, except with original paint and decals, so that confirms it's of British origin.
