If I will use an item extensively, and if I know what I need, then I will buy an item for durability (quality) and performance. Assuming there are not extraneous whistles and bells, I have found this to be the most cost-effective. The only item in recent memory where this has not applied is in my Showers Pass Elite 2.0 jacket and pants which have not had the longevity that I expected for the price.
