Another question........
Been doing some research......
Is there a chance the Universal side pull brakes on this Bottecchia are original? If so, I'll be keeping them on, for sure.
Edit: Just found a Google pic of a '71 w/ Universal 68 side pulls and levers. Were the sidepulls considered a step up/upgrade from the center pulls or something?
Oh, and the wheelset is for tubulars I believe. I saw no hook beads on the rear rim that was without a tire. However, the front tire was a clincher. Hmmm. Nevetheless, thanks to the encouragement (lotek), I located a place to get inexpensive tubulars. 3 for $50. I can't get good clinchers for that. I've always avoided tubulars, but after reading everything I've been reading, I'm curious to give them a go just for the riding experience. And, I don't know, seems like a got a real gem of a bike and components. Let us see what a real Ital racer feels like, eh?
