How to adjust my pedals?
Hi,
I'm a beginner, with an '05 Trek 1200. The LBS is about 45 mi. away and it's tough for me to take the bike in. I'm hoping I can get some advice on adjustments to my pedals.
I have Wellgo 713 clipless pedals and Cannondale MTB shoes. Overall, I'm extremely happy, but here's my problem:
I have both pedals adjusted to the lowest tension setting. On the right side, I can click in and out effortlessly. However, on the left side, I can get in OK, but have trouble getting out. I can pivot my heel out a long way and the thing just won't turn loose. However, if I turn my heel *inward*, I can unclick. I've tried fiddling with the tension adjustment, but it's all the way back. Could it be something with the cleat on the shoe? Nothing looks visually out of ordinary, but I'm not really sure what to look for.
I've basically trained myself to always unclip on the right side when I stop, but I know this isn't safe. I'd really like to be able to get these things adjusted the same.
Thanks in advance for any pointers...
(P.S. I posted here a few weeks back about my struggles with hill climbing and you guys gave me great encouragement. Now I hit the hills on every ride! I go up 'em slow, but I've learned how to do it and hope to get stronger as time goes on. Thanks to everyone who helped!)
