Just a post-ride wrapup. Our own jacobs decided at the last minute last night that he would join me for today's festivities. I heard tell that there was a field of 70 to 80 riders on the metric (actually it was a little over 65mi). While it's not a race and I really do believe that, it's also true that the field was allowed to split and everyone went as fast as they wanted. We stayed up with the lead group and I'm proud to report that we both finished within the first 5 or so.

Many props were had from all riders for going out fixed with shoulder bags. Jacob was rocking some sweet cut-off jeans shorts. He gets extra points for that, the sloping tube pursuit geometry, and the wicked low track drops.

I'm not sure what the final real time was, maybe like 5 hours (seems really long given only two rest stops and I know we just ducked in at the first), but my computer says rolling time was 3:41 with an 18mph pace.

Is there a point to all this? No, not really. I was just feeling good about the accomplishment and thought I'd share.

Thanks and pie to everyone who sponsored me. (Oh, and it's not too late! You can still send post-race contributions my way!)
