Why it's not a good idea to completely chop your steerer tube

We've heard all the usual reasons why it's not a good idea to completely cut down the steerer tube after adjusting the bar height to where you want it. Like, you may change your mind and want to raise the bars or maybe raise the stem and then flip it to look cool. Or maybe, you may have a hard time selling the frame in the future. Well, I've found another reason as shown in the attached pics. I originally had two 5mm spacers on top of the stem and was kinda thinking about cutting the steerer tube to eliminate them when I found this neat bell that mounts to the steerer tube with its own special 1cm spacer. Neat, huh?
