BTW, some corrections:

위국 (x) 외국 (O).
gook = country... nation.
Han-gook = (han = how Korea used to call itself way.. back couple thousand years ago) = Korea.
Mi-gook actually derived from Chinese. Some US Sailors landed in China first and they named it Mi-gook... In fact, lot of foreign country name spoken in Korea is like that. They were very closed community.
In case of way-gook, way means outside. So outside of country (foreign country). They would attach way-gook *saram* (saram, In = person) for foreigner.
Migook Saram = American, etc.
