I hate to dredge an old thread but....

Several of you seem to have experience with these Araya 1W rims. Couple questions:

1) How strong are these rims...fairly so or are they noodly?
2) At least one poster mentioned the braking performance wasn't good. Any further comments?
3) How durable is the super hard anodizing on the braking surface?

Reason I ask is these would be a decent clincher replacement for a bike I'm working on that had some Araya super hard anodized tubular rims. They'd be very correct looking.
