I don't think 1,500 miles is much of a test for bibs since some people probably log those miles in a month or 2 (not me, wish I had the time). I've got about 9,000 miles on 2 sets of performance ultra II bibs that are over a year old and the only issue is the logo printing on the legs is a little cracked. They don't feel worn out at all and I'm not seeing any signs of 'transparancy'. They've always been machine washed in a front loader (hundreds of times) and hung up to dry. I've been very impressed, I think I paid like $60 a pair for them. I've never tried Assos or Gores, but I'm thinking about giving the Unos a try just to see if I'm missing anything with all the rave reviews. I don't expect they will hold up any better than my Ultras, but I'm hoping for improved comfort for the extra $.
