Great News For You!
This is encouraging. I had a full L4-L5 fusion in 2008 and my surgeon encouraged me to exchange my upright mountain bike posture for a road bike position. That was ~15 months ago and it has been great. My back stretches out wonderfully as I ride my road bike. Yours will, too.
