Complicated? Heck no! I have the low-end Avid-BB5's on my touring bike, and after a full wheelset swap, front and back, it took me literally about 2 minutes to dial in both brakes. I can center and adjust my disks for maximum stopping power way, way faster than the linears on the other bikes we have.

I truly do not get why people thing adjusting discs are hard. The sum total of steps are:

1. Loosen mounting bolts
2. Squeeze brake levers to center the disc.
3. Tighten bolts, release levers.
4. Turn adjustment dial(s) for no rubbing. This takes about 10 seconds.
5. Sometimes ( but hardly ever ) adjust cable tension.
6. Done

As opposed to the repeated fiddling back and forth with road brakes.
