It's a grind, but if it offers a chance for better pay and advancement, it is something to consider. I would discuss it thoroughly with your wife. There will be changes you'll have to make that will greatly affect her. If she encourages you do take the job, then set a time limit for yourself as to how long you'll stay in it if you don't like it. That should be at least a year.
