Marge is in for service, we got a Toyota Corolla for a loaner. It's the most gutless car I've driven since the rental Hyundai Accent I had for work a few months ago. Meh.

Oh, and I do a lot more than use the internet and check email on my MacBook. I'm not a full on geek, but Macs have been enough for me for the past 15 years.

The North Face Denali is pretty awesome. I used to steal the Old Badness' all the time. His was grey. I have a similar fleece, the liner out of my North Face ski parka. It's not windproof though.

Goddammit! I didn't look at it until you said this. Now I have to wash my eyeballs again.

LOL. Over the past 15 years I've had 2 types: Over 6' tall, around 220-250lbs and shaved head, or around 5'9" and 160 and Sicilian. So my types are no hair, or dark hair. (The Old Badness and Mr. TS are the latter.)

Do y'all not have alley scroungers and dumpster divers? It doesn't matter how nice the neighborhood is here, we have people in pick-ups who patrol the alleys in the city looking for stuff. You for sure don't want to leave bicycles outside anywhere near the alley for very long.

They even collect stuff out here in the burbs. We replaced some old metal railing on our front porch over the summer, and just left it at the bottom of the driveway, to take to the dump later. The next day I saw a truck pull up and take it. They even knocked on the door, and stopped by again the following day, I'm guessing to look for more. Most people are looking for metal.

At an ex's building, we tore out a bunch of walls in the rental unit, and tossed a water heater. The heater was gone in half an hour, and a couple days later the debris pile was picked over. Main thing that was missing were the ballast from fluorescent light fixtures and conduit.

For the most part, the scroungers are respectful, and only take things that are obviously trash. It's the hooligan neighborhood kids who just steal **** and break windows you have to look out for, or the jerks who break into houses to steal copper pipes and stained glass windows.
