definitely not for heavy loading. french constructeur rear racks are more for holding the fender than actually carrying weight.
It's made to carry weight, just not that much of it. A mid sized saddlebag at best.
Then again, a mid sized saddlebag and a pair of front painners is all you need for many tours.
