Sorry to hear that Portland lost a cyclist! Yea, this is a really cool place to live, especially for us two wheeled types.
I don't really follow the great mass-transit debate here. It really seems to get people riled up though. I don't think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that they've reached a decision about the Vancouver routing of MAX. They have completed construction of a line that runs from Stark street up to the airport. That line has been reported to be a good one. I saw a few months ago where a coyote boarded on of the trains They had a bit of a time getting him to pay his fare!
